It is really something, making your daily bread with professions that make you face your own ignorance all the time. You are constantly reminded how inexperienced, clueless and mediocre your existence really is and how humbled you should be when facing challenges.

This humility becomes crucial for your survival.

But your consciousness is never one force. You're not one.

Make sure that one of the voices in your head reminds the others that the essence of your consciousness lies in multiplicity. And while many of the voices are busy being humble, you need also to hear those muffled, little, (not so) assertive, confident voices.

There is a turmoil and a battle inside your head, and in the Parliament of your brain, those different parties are in perpetual debate. Keep them sharp, keep them busy, let them both win in a glorious, self-accepting, self-conversational way. If you can't afford letting yourself win, try to think that you're letting them win.

Well, there are no many other ways out of self-loathing and constant doubt when you have to earn your bread by such a profession, are they now?
